馃ォ How Much Meat Should You Order Per Person? Our Practical Portion Guide
Not Sure How Much Meat To Order?
One of the questions we get asked most often is:
"How much meat should I allow per person?"
A perfectly understandable question. Nobody wants to run out of food, but nobody wants to be left with excessive leftovers either.
To make things easier, we have compiled a practical overview of the average portions we recommend for the most popular cuts in our assortment.
It is important to remember that these are averages.
Some people simply eat more than others. You know your guests best. If you are hosting a table full of BBQ enthusiasts or big eaters, feel free to increase the quantities. If your guests are lighter eaters or if the meal includes many side dishes, you can reduce them slightly.
馃ォ Boneless Beef
Rib Eye, Entrec么te, Striploin
These cuts generally contain a certain amount of marbling and sometimes an outer fat cap which is included in the total weight.
Recommended portion: 卤 300 grams per person
In our opinion, this is the ideal serving size for a main course.
馃ォ Lean Steaks
Chateaubriand, Filet Mignon, Beef Tenderloin
These cuts contain very little fat and virtually no waste.
As a result, the recommended portion can be slightly smaller.
Recommended portion: minimum 200 grams per person
For hearty appetites, a larger portion is certainly welcome.
馃ォ Bavette & Onglet
These highly flavorful cuts have a slightly firmer texture and are often favored by true steak lovers.
Recommended portion: 卤 250 grams per person
馃ォ Carpaccio
Our carpaccios are primarily intended to be served as a starter.
Starter: 1 carpaccio per person
Would you like to serve carpaccio as an appetizer or sharing plate?
In that case, allow 1 carpaccio for approximately 3 people.
馃ォ Bone-In Beef
Bone-In Rib Steak (C么te 脿 l'Os), Tomahawk
When serving bone-in beef, part of the total weight consists of bone.
Therefore, the recommended portion is slightly higher.
Recommended portion: 400 to 500 grams per person
For large sharing C么te 脿 l'Os steaks, we usually calculate approximately 450 grams per person.
馃ォ Picanha
Picanha includes its characteristic fat cap, which contributes significantly to both flavor and juiciness.
This fat cap is part of the total weight.
Recommended portion: minimum 300 grams per person
馃ォ Japanese Wagyu A5
Japanese Wagyu is a category of its own.
Because of its exceptional marbling and richness, people generally eat less Wagyu than traditional steak.
As A Main Course
150 to 250 grams per person
As A Starter
100 grams per person
As An Appetizer Or Tasting Portion
30 to 40 grams per person
Often, this is all you need to create an unforgettable culinary experience.
馃敟 Boneless Low & Slow BBQ
Boston Butt, Pork Collar, Brisket
With low & slow cooking, some moisture and fat are naturally lost during the cooking process.
Nevertheless, the yield remains relatively high.
Main Course
卤 300 grams per person when the meat is the primary dish (for example pulled pork sandwiches or brisket served as the main attraction).
Starter
卤 150 grams per person
馃敟 Bone-In Low & Slow BBQ
Short Ribs, St. Louis Style Ribs
With these cuts, you must take the bone weight into account.
On average, approximately 50% of the original weight remains as edible meat.
Recommended portion: minimum 500 grams per person
馃悥 Suckling Pig
For a whole suckling pig, bones, fat and non-edible parts must also be considered.
Here too, the net edible meat yield is approximately 50%.
Recommended portion: minimum 500 grams per person

Our Final Tip
Still unsure about the right quantity?
It is generally better to order a little too much than too little.
Quality meat can easily be frozen and enjoyed later, whereas running short at the table is usually much harder to solve.
If you have questions about a specific preparation or cut of meat, we will of course be happy to help.
Enjoy your barbecue!
